WHO: Fefnir
WHAT: Day Three of Fefnir's Farm Training is...very non-eventful! He heads out to explore.
WHEN: Spring 1, Year 1 - Afternoon
WHERE: All Over

Fefnir laid on his back on the sun dappled grass beneath the shade of a large tree, watching branches dance in the light spring breeze. He could hear the cattle lowing in the distance on Garien's farm. He wasn't sure he'd ever get used to this strange and vital world. He wasn't sure he wanted to get used to it, because this kind of peace was the sort of thing he hoped he never took for granted. There was no war. There was no pollution (save for the occasional bit of trash someone fished out of the river). Real grass. Real trees. The humans were happy, genuinely so.

He lifted his hand and looked at it. The synthskin was a little dirty, and he suspected it would get dirtier still once he learned to till and tend the earth. It was unusual, looking at his exposed fingers without gloves, without armor. But it was good.

"Wish you guys were here to see this," he murmured, closing his eyes and picturing the faces of his 'siblings' in Neo-Arcadia. Harpuia and Leviathan would be blown away at the sight of a real utopia. No doubt they'd take heart, and think of this place as the future they were fighting to claim. Even Zero...

Fefnir chuckled at the thought of the stoic warrior trying to pat a cow. What he wouldn't give to see that! He sat up slowly, resting on his palms for a moment. Then he hoisted himself up to his feet and slung his backpack onto his broad shoulders before setting toward town. Today's lesson hadn't been all that strenuous -- just go to the trade depot, meet the lady with the fiery red hair who had laid out her goods, and the rest of the day was his to do as he pleased.

Maybe he'd do a little foraging? It was a decent enough excuse to explore the woods where he'd woken up. He might even find someone else he knew. Or he could go diving in the rivers, see if he couldn't catch some fish with his hands. He'd done that yesterday, and found the experience far more enjoyable than he might have imagined. He wasn't due back at the farm until dinner, and that gave him about...five hours? He could do a lot with that time.

Or he could do as little as he pleased.

Yeah, he was going to like this place, he decided. He was going to like it a lot.
