Spring - Day 1
Aug. 1st, 2015 05:13 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Weather: Sunny
Not many people in the village got much sleep last night. Not only had they stayed up to celebrate the upcoming new year, but excitement ran high at the news: new villagers were coming to live in Rendezvous. There was even a hint that one of them might be a new farmer! There were rumors and animated chatter amongst the citizens, wondering what the newcomers would be like, whether or not they would stay, and how things might change.
The mayor, Sarith Vryce Wallace, had hardly slept more than a couple of hours before rising to begin his day. There was much to prepare, particularly if one of the newcomers was, indeed, planning to begin a farm. It would certainly ease Garien's workload. He'd invited the young man to attend the gates, but Garien had laughed sheepishly, stating that there was too much work to be done and that he'd slacked off plenty to attend the New Year's festival the night before. But when they arrived, he asked that they be brought to his farm so he could greet them properly.
But Sarith didn't mind waiting. He exchanged idle conversation with Samra at the Trading Post, though in truth, neither were really listening or invested in talk of spring. Their gazes continued to stray toward the main road, searching for dust clouds that would surely tell that the new residents would soon arrive.
